HP Pavilion p2-1119 PC

HP Pavilion p2-1119 PC Review
Nice, basic unit. I paid $299.98 locally, then $10 for a pack of DVDs (recovery disks). No WiFi. Ethernet only for Internet Access (no dial-up modem).
5 megabyte RAM, terabyte HD. No camera card reader, but I got a mini external one for $4 here (Amazon) - my Canon digicam was not recognized by Win7.
This, as I think is true of the entire P2 series, is a laptop-in-a-box w/ an external p/s (80w?). Beautiful for email, e-shopping, etc.
The mini-tower has two fans - right side near the front blows on the back of the motherboard, and the other is an exhaust fan in the usual place. The AMD chip has a multi-pronged heat-sink that is about 2" high. The m-board is on it's side, so the sink sticks out sideways.
One gripe: The DVD/CD door open/close button is really "open only" - once the tray comes out, the button is unreachable to "close".
IE9 loads web pages really slowly. I switched to another 64x browser, and launches are MUCH faster now.
If you're using Norton Internet Security - PC comes w/ 2 mo 'free' - be certain to disable the Windows Firewall - if you've a router, turn the Norton Firewall off, as well [routers ARE firewalls].
My Norton expired, so I switched to a free antivirus. My DSL modem has a Firewall so it was re-enabled - Win Firewall remains 'off'.
