RUB1.700 - Soundstream Monoblock 700 Watt RMS Rubicon Series Subwoofer Amplifier Review

I bought two Rubicons, a 1.700 & a 2.250. BOTH of these amps get so hot you can not touch them. They are supplied by their own 4ga straight from the battery and each have a separate 4ga ground. The current is a constant 14.2-14.4. The 2.250 is running a set of MB Quart 6 1/2 components and the 1.700 is running a Kicker Solobaric 12L5 4ohm DVC wired to run at 2ohm. Both amps are mounted on the back of my rear seats inside the trunk and are accessible if I fold the seats down. The amps sound great, but again they get extremely hot. I had the 1.700 go into thermal protection twice. From the TECH specs there is plenty of room around the amps, they are mounted flat with nothing else around them. I have been trying to reach Soundstream Tech Support but there is only one person handling that and hold times are crazy. I may have to install fans in order to cool them. Other than the heating issue the amps work fine.
