I installed this mount in my 2011 Nissan Murano (just a bit of modification needed by extending one of the bolt holes on the mounting base) for securing my laptop during storm chases. The flexible design allowed me to mount it for safe passenger use outside of the deployment zones of the front air-bags right against the center console. The stand did not budge, even when the laptop was on it and I was driving down windy and bumpy dirt roads.

The pole that extends from the base plate is set off to the side of the passenger just enough that it does not interfere with their legs and does not affect comfort for long drives. The laptop stand portion can be quickly loosened and pulled out of the base tube and thrown into your trunk when you no longer need the mount.

I was very impressed with the quality of the materials (the fact the flat mounting piece for the laptop was plastic worried me a bit, but it was tough as hell). I feel VERY confident in leaving a laptop secured to that stand and not having to worry about it flying off onto the floor, shifting around, or shaking loose. Very happy!
