I gave this item the highest rating because it functions perfectly as it was advertised to do. I have used all of its features and find each of them to work as advertised. If I am not totally satisfied it is because my personal requirements are somewhat unique. This gps is designed for road and city driving. The data base and graphics are very good at the micro-level and designed for navigating streets and roads and finding directions to specific addresses. The information required to make specific turns and exits in busy traffic is excellent. It is an invaluable aid in maintaining situational awareness when ones attention is needed for safe driving. My complaint is that the zoomed-out map detail is not of the quality I was expecting. I just completed my semi-annual, more than 4,000 mile, migration from my winter quarters in south Texas to my summer home in Alaska. Along the way I fully appreciated the zoomed-in map features that made finding correct interstate interchanges, and some city driving, a breeze. Yet, during most of the long cross country driving I like to zoom out and monitor my progression relative to my next way point which may be more than 300 miles away. This unit was deficient in that category. I know that Garmin has the map data bases that I require since this unit replaced my old Garmin gps496 which had excellent aeronautical and terrestrial maps that I used both when flying and driving. I may be the only person with my unique preferences and I recognize that. If this unit does not fit me perfectly it is probably my own fault. It does not prevent me from giving it the highest rating and recommendations. It is an outstanding product.
