Lastolite LL LB7855 10 x 24 Feet Washable Muslin Background (New York) Review

This muslin is made of a cloth blend, unlike some of the other Lastolite muslins which are made of a stretchy material. This isn't really a very big deal to me though. I have enough muslin clamps to pull out almost all the wrinkles from my backdrops. The only drawback with this muslin is its color. It's a pinkish color, and it's unusual enough to not be used very frequently. With a red gel, though, it becomes a very vibrant color with interesting gradients.

I own almost every single Lastolite backdrop they make. One of the big complaints I see from people is that the backdrops don't look like what's pictured. I believe this is because of the different lighting conditions. The backdrop's appearance is going to change depending on how much light is being thrown on it. That being said, I've taken pictures of all of them. Hopefully these will help people decide if the backdrop is right for them. I have included all the relevant details when I shot the backdrops so that the mystery of what they will look like under a known lighting environment is solved.

Also, I would imagine most people buying these have dedicated lighting for backdrops (if not you should get some.) One of the most interesting things I've found I can do is combine various backdrops with different colored gels to come up with some very unique combinations. Buying a set of gels with these backdrops virtually increases your options for backdrops exponentially.
