though I've been spinning vinyl for 30 years this is my first MC cart so all I can compare it to is the MM's that I've had and currently have.
I got this cart on a recommendation and plus I've used and still own various AT carts. I'm quite sure the suspension system is going to need time to "loosen up" but out of the box this cart sounds good. I swapped this ATF3 in place of another AT cart, the 15Sa with a shibata stylus on it so that's a pretty tall order to keep up with. So far its rather smooth with that signature AT upper mid/treble sound. Not very bright but clear. I've played everything from Aerosmith to Howling Wolf on it and it performs and tracks very well. No inner groove sibilance either. Now it's not a "Jazz Performer" like my old Shure V-15III when Ornette Coleman, J.J. Johnson and Wayne Shorter is spinning but for the price point vs. performance level of this MC cart I don't see how anyone can go wrong.
