Neodigits Helios X5000 HD Network Media Player Review

This is my first time writing a review. Let me only mention some facts.

(1) The last firmware update is more than 1 year old (April'07). It is full of bugs, in particular, the unit
- repeatedly skips same portions of an audio CDs during playback,
- cannot play through streaming some of the formats that are claimed as "supported".
These (and some other) issues were acknowledged as "problems we are working on" by their stuff, about 1 year ago (right after that last buggy firmware version had been out). Nothing has happened.

(2) The DVD drive they use is noisy and unreliable, which "adds" to the firmware problems. People say that in the beginning the factory was using a better drive, what they switched to is one of the cheapest existing DVD readers.

(3) Their user forum was full of negative feedback, according to the product quality. Finally, about 1 month ago, they removed the forum from their web site. All the links are still there, but if you try to follow them you get "page doesn't exist".

(4) Support is not responding at all, roughly since the end of 2007.
