Great for CAT5/6 LAN cables, RS232 cables, VGA cables, USB cables, KVM cables, etc. Probably not so good for single conductor labeling - it would wrap around quite a few times on 14 gauge control wiring.

I really like the professionalism. The yellow really looks good on grey, putty, and light blue cables. The laminate portion wraps around a couple times to protect the terminal transfer resin from wearing off. The BMP71 printer clearly prints your part #, description, etc. Makes it much easier to do over-the-phone end-user troubleshooting.

I'd give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the cost. The labels and ribbon (M71-R4300) end up being 71 cents for each label - not including depreciation on the printer. Ouch! But to us, it's worth the savings in time on the phone later. From experience, using paper labels that fall off in a year or two makes them essentially worthless.

Note: If you have really fat cables (large diameter), consider M71-33-427-YL instead.
