Ushio VLT-HC910LP Projector Lamp with Housing Review

I bought this Ushio VLT-HC910LP lamp ($291.32 + sales tax + free shipping) directly from BulbAmerica on September 14th 2012. It works perfectly with my Mitsubishi HC1600. It's a very, very bright lamp compared with my old one which reached 2100 hours of operation. The housing and the bulb look the same as the original one that came with my projector. (I bought the projector brand new, not used). In fact, they have the Ushio markings (Ushio, NSH200MDA) as that on the original lamp. Note that there is no Mitsubishi markings on the original lamp. Onkyo TX-SR803B Home Theater Receiver ( Black ) Review

I was on the market for a budget receiver, but I still wanted it to have many features and HDMI connections was a must for me. This baby has 2 HDMI in and 1 out, wich is just what I needed.

The set up of the speakers is very easy and fast but the connections are not. The manual is kind of confusing. Looks easy the first time you read it but then you realize that you can't follow exactly the instructions. Some times they lead you to make conecctions you've already made with other components.

The remote is too big, but useful.

Once you have solved all the problems connecting you stuff, you noticed you have just what you 've paid for: a great receiver, with a wonderful sound for music and movies. I have it working with 3 KEF speakers (front and central) and 4 sattelite Samsung speakers, wich I am about to change sooner than later. The result is excelent.

All that said, I am completelly satisfied since I was expecting some kind of problems with the always complicated (at least for me) connnections.

Certainly a cool looking and feature-filled unit. The front panel LCD is big enough to serve as an "extra" screen. The first one I got stopped reading disks after a week. The second one reads discs great (even after the kids jammed two DVDs in at the same time!), but the remote has stopped working and many of the adjustments can only be done through the remote.

The problem, however, seems to be overheating. For the first 1/2-hour or so it plays flawlessly, not even affected by constant terrible roads. After that, the movie starts freezing for a few seconds every few seconds. This annoys the kids and makes an hour film into a 2-hour experience. I will rework my install and maybe add a cooling fan, I don't know what else the problem could be.

A minor annoyance is that the mechanism holding the front panel on rattles if you drive with the screen angled at all. Closed and fully open are fine.

As a side note, in-car TV is cool, but aren't analog broadcasts all going away soon?

My wife got me these headphones for listening to music and playing world of Tanks. For music they are awesome. Really great. World of Tanks and some other games have issues with Logitec headsets. Logitec ignores this issue. There is loud crackling in the game and voice chat will not connect. This is as much a game issue so perhaps one day there will be a patch but for now, get somethign else.
