While shopping for a large screen television, I had considered the 32" and 36" Sony WEGAs. However, this 43" Sony projection TV had key advantages over the CRT WEGAs.KP-43 Advantages: Thinner (shallower depth) than the 36" WEGA; Lighter (about 100 lbs) than the 36" WEGA; and Larger screen viewing area (43" vs 36").CRT Advantages: Wider viewing angle (both vertical and horizontal); and Shorter minimum viewing distance.Although the KP-43 projection TV has a larger screen, it is lighter and can be moved more easily. It also is a good choice for apartments or other smaller living spaces.If picture quality is critical to you, then you should be aware that you may lose detail in the shadows since the black levels do not seem to be reproduced as consistently or accurately as a professional monitors. To calibrate your TV for your viewing environment, I recommend renting the "Video Essentials" DVD. In general, you may need to decrease the PICTURE (contrast), BRIGHTNESS, and SHARPNESS settings to achieve the best picture quality. With the factory settings, you may notice blooming and additional noise. You may also notice all the noise from traditional cable and broadcast signals. Therefore, you may wish to subscribe to digital services. There is a single component video input on the TV, which may not be enough if you have digital cable and a DVD player. Virgin Pulse 10.4" Portable TV/DVD with TFT/LCD Screen - VP10 Review

Just about everything you could want in a compact package. I bought it to use in an RV where I have very little room to spare and needed something real stingy on power (12 volts only). A couple of little things you should be aware of if you are considering buying:
The unit is 5 inches thick. If you think of it as a flat TV you mount on a wall, you may be disappointed. The extra thickness does allow for more of a speaker enclosure because the sound is surprisingly good.
The display is bright with good color rendition but off axis viewing is poor. You have to be pretty much looking directly perpendicular to the screen avoid color shift. It would be difficult for 3 or more people to optimally view at once unless they were really good friends.
Input/output connectivity is on the right side. If wall mounting (a nice set of brackets and a template is provided) is done, the wires will be in relatively plain view. I would have preferred a recessed alcove on the rear.
The F connector for the TV (only) is on the left side (again, difficult to conceal the wire)
The FM section has its own telescoping antenna and is not shared with the TV's F connector. If you have FM and TV/cable coming in on a common coax, the unit does appear to utilize the cable FM.
One thing not mentioned is the *.JPG viewing function. If you place a disk full of *.JPG picture files in the drive, the unit displays them, sequentially, displaying them about 5 seconds each.
If you insert a disk with *.MP3 files on it, the first several characters of the filename is displayed on the LCD. You can turn off the screen while playing *.MP3 files. I nice feature for me to conserve power.
If you have a tiny apartment or a small office, this unit makes a nice complete, compact, "personal" entertainment system.

This product was great value. Beat everyone elses price by at least 60$. I did have to file down the opening where the parking brake foot lever was, but that was because I wanted to avoid bending the brake lever. With a sanding pad on a dremel, it took only about 15 minutes. These kicks saved me hours of fiberglass time!

My husband bought this camcorder for me for our anniversary in 2005. I have not had one problem with it since. I even took it to Iraq (a very sandy and windy place) and did my own little documentary!! The menu is easy to understand and follow. Neodigits Helios X5000 HD Network Media Player Review

This is my first time writing a review. Let me only mention some facts.

(1) The last firmware update is more than 1 year old (April'07). It is full of bugs, in particular, the unit
- repeatedly skips same portions of an audio CDs during playback,
- cannot play through streaming some of the formats that are claimed as "supported".
These (and some other) issues were acknowledged as "problems we are working on" by their stuff, about 1 year ago (right after that last buggy firmware version had been out). Nothing has happened.

(2) The DVD drive they use is noisy and unreliable, which "adds" to the firmware problems. People say that in the beginning the factory was using a better drive, what they switched to is one of the cheapest existing DVD readers.

(3) Their user forum was full of negative feedback, according to the product quality. Finally, about 1 month ago, they removed the forum from their web site. All the links are still there, but if you try to follow them you get "page doesn't exist".

(4) Support is not responding at all, roughly since the end of 2007.

That said, decide for yourself :-)
